Privacy Policy

PawLedger ("we", "us") is a pet care tracking app. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We designed PawLedger to collect as little as possible.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information — if you create an account: your email address, a name (optional), and a securely hashed password.
• Pet records you create — pet profiles (name, species, breed, birthday, photo), and the health entries you log (weights, medications, vaccines, vet visits, notes, daily routines).
• App usage data — we do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. We keep basic server logs (IP address, request time) for security and abuse prevention only.

If you use PawLedger as a guest, all records stay on your device and are never sent to our servers.

2. How We Use Information

• To provide your account and sync your pet records across your devices.
• To send you the reminders you explicitly enable (medication, vaccine, and routine reminders are delivered locally on your device).
• To operate, secure, and maintain the service.

We do not sell or rent your information. We do not share it with third parties for advertising or tracking. We have no third-party trackers or ad networks in the app.

3. Photo Storage

Pet photos you upload are stored on our servers solely to display them in the app for your account. You can replace or delete a pet's photo at any time by deleting the pet or your account.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

Your records are kept until you delete them. You can delete individual entries in the app at any time. Deleting your account (Settings → Delete Account) permanently erases your account and all associated data from our servers immediately, except minimal security logs. Uninstalling the app also removes all guest data from your device.

5. Security

All traffic to our servers is encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as salted bcrypt hashes. We apply rate limiting and least-privilege access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.

6. Children's Privacy

PawLedger is rated 4+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Your Rights

You may access, correct, export (Settings → Export My Data), or delete your information at any time. If you are in the EEA, UK, or California, you additionally have rights under GDPR and CCPA respectively, including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Articles in the Learn section are original educational guides for pet parents. They are not veterinary advice. Always consult a licensed veterinarian for medical decisions about your pet.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
